Making Online Payments

Taxes. Assessments. And bills. Oh, my! It may not be fun to pay them, but at least it's now a little easier. The City of Portage has contracted with Official Payments Corp to offer citizens the convenience of paying taxes and fees on line. Using your credit card, you can give yourself a little extra time to pay, and even earn reward points, air miles, or whatever other incentives your particular credit card offers. Online payments are being accepted for the following categories:

• Building Permits
• Special Assessments
• Summer Real Estate Tax
• Water and Sewer Bills (online payment or automatic debit)
• Winter Real Estate Tax
• Adult Softball Registration Fees (during registration only)
• Summer Entertainment Series Donations

Please note that Official Payments Corp charges a convenience fee of approximately 3% for payments completed through this source.

To make payments on line, just follow the instructions below.

2. Go to www.officialpayments.com

3. On their home page, your will find an area that says

   "Make a Payment – You can begin here."

   1. Select "local payments"

   2. Enter your ZIP Code

   3. Click the orange arrow to continue.

4. You will then be taken to a page which asks for "Payment Type"...just follow the prompts and instructions, as they walk you through making a payment in 6 easy steps.
