Geographic Information System (GIS Mapping)

The Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer system used for the storage, retrieval, analysis, and display of geographic information. This information includes things or places within the city that have a location/geographic component such as addresses, buildings, parcels, roads, or natural features like wetlands or woodlands.
The City of Portage GIS system includes over 20 map overlays that include historical Aerial photographs, school districts, voter precinct locations, floodplains and wetlands, future land use and zoning maps. The two most frequently downloaded maps are provided below as PDF documents for your convenience. Or you may also go directly to the Geographic Information System for all the available maps.
